Birthday Coming!
What would I give to forget this day! It shall come then this Friday, nothing to do about it but accept it. I have seen two decent movies the last few days: Last chance Harvey and Somers town. They are okay but nothing comparable to Scent of a woman. Nothing is the same after this movie anyways. I am in a mood for drama these days, I think I’ve got the Spleen. I am not in a good mental state the last few days…BD is coming, my time here is ending, time to think about the next move. Come on Pierre, one foot in front of the other! Move on!
I have class in 20 min and I have no desire attending this stupid class at all. The lecturer has huge troubles with it himself and it is such a mess. I hope they will go easy on the grading because I can feel a disaster coming.
The swim was perfect, fast and smooth. No one bothered me, they stayed away from me as if my speed scared some of them away.

3 Beers Only!
This shall remain my golden rule for the future. I get headaches when I get over this number. It is unpleasant for the next day.
After few days of intense games playing, I am fully satisfied with the Dell performance. I am not too excited about Vista though. Heavy shit that keeps on controlling everything making the download of webpages slow!
I kept on watching over and over the final speech of the movie, "Scent of a woman". Very nice piece of work! I gave to the beggar who returned my credit card last time another quid yesterday. I paid my last rent to the school as well and in two days it will be the final draw for the tuition. That will be it for the financial burden here.

Nice Weather
It is very unusual for Manchester but the last few days were really nice. I even had sunburns on my nose from my last two hikes. I could see that my arms are getting darker. Dave M asked me if I wanted to join them today for a day hike in Wales. I was tempted but I was a bit tired from last Sunday’s hike and I am swimming also this morning so I’d rather stay home.
I will fly back to Paris this weekend, and then next weekend, I will have my last vacation in Scotland. Amit, a student from India, wanted to join us for Skye. His parents are rich. It is nice because maybe I can go out with him to try a fancy restaurant. Dave M and Dave E prefer to eat at home. I could cook something nice also. I prefer cooking at home since it’s better and cheaper.
I have to concentrate on my law exams anyways I need to make sure I will not fail. I do not want to come back in September to resit. That would be annoying. So I have two weeks of lectures and that’s it. My time in Manchester is coming to an end, slowly but surely.

I went hiking with Dave M & Co yesterday. I am very tired today. I had a great walk/climb again but nothing as hard as last week. We finished early which was nice. We had some good time in a pub as well: Pictures.
The movie on Friday was: Scent of a woman. It was an excellent movie. I loved it.

Strange Side Effect!
Because of the hard walk/climb, half of my body was frozen and sore at the beginning of the week. During the swim, I had to pay more attention to my technique and optimize it. Somehow I managed to level up and I was much faster. I was content with this nice positive effect. Indeed swimming unlike other cardio/power sports is all about technique: 75% of technique and 25% of fitness. This morning, I had another delightful event. I finished my 3kms when the swim squad left. I then moved to their private lane next to mine. The coach was standing right there talking and for other people, it looked like I was being trained by them. I also speed up like they do in a race because I wanted to push myself. No one else moved from the other lanes to mine and I had a whole lane for myself for the rest of my workout. Wonderful!

After two long weeks, I am finally enjoying my new baby. Everything is working great and it looks so nice. I should have bought it a long time ago. I like the fact that it is very quiet, I need to get used to the qwerty keyboard. I will also have to buy a french powerplug. It’s time to gather all the external HDs and compile my data to one single disk. They are now spread everywhere, and it is quite annoying.
I’ve made a compilation of my favorite songs: part1, part2 both are needed in order to be uncompressed in winrar. I will try to play some games today, the latest ones of course, I could not play them even with my Asus before :). I’ve seen my first Bluray movie yesterday, X-men the Last Stand. It was smooth!

New Laptop!
Finally it has arrived. Everything is running smoothly and looks very pretty. It will take few hours before it can connect to the internet due to the University’s setup. It is lighter than my old Asus. The screen is very bright and provides real life colors so it seems faded compared to the Asus’ flashy screen. It will take some times to get used to Windows Vista. I am so used to Windows XP. I will install few games and enjoy my new toy for a while!

Tryfan is the name of the peak we climbed last Sunday in Wales near Snowdon. It was very hard but it is one of my favorite sport activity. Since I was born I always liked climbing trees and rocks like a little chimp. So I did it very well. I doubt the rest of the group could do what I did and I finished an hour before anyone: Pictures! I had several good pictures and I particularly liked the first one in which I was jumping under the blue sky. The cliff was quite large and deep!
I misread the Dell link, it should arrive tomorrow! *sigh* I am very tired but I still managed to move my sore ass to an internet cafe to extract the pictures still because my Compaq cannot do it. I had to go back and forth since I forgot the plug. What a painful day!

Broken Body!
I went to Wales Hiking with some of my friends, Dave E, Dave M, Iris and Ruth. The climbing was hard and treacherous but I managed to get all the way to the top an hour before the rest of the group. Dave M was very upset because he was worried. He made two bad judgments later himself during the day so I guess it made up for my own error :).
Today I am paying a huge toll to that climbing challenge. My entire body is full of cramps and the only fact of shaking a bit is painful. I also lost my keys which will cost me a fortune to replace!
I had some really nice photos but my Compaq is too slow to allow me to extract and resize them. The new Dell is in the UK 100 miles away in Hinckley. It should arrive tomorrow. Let’s keep fingers crossed!

Scotland Deal!
Thanks to Dave M’s efforts, looks like the trip to Scotland is finalized:
Dave M: “Shall we book this cottage for 375 (02/05-09/05)? Between 3 £125 each, if we get 5 (which would still allow Pierre his own room) it’ll be £75 each (maybe exact amounts adjusted according to who stays in bunk room)”
Cottage photo album! It looks fantastic!
Pierre: “WOW! Lovely! It’s a GO for me! I will check for a room for Glencoe if we go there on Friday. Noooo camping unless there is no other choice!”
Dave E: “The Pierre seal of approval. Do you really like it or will it just ‘do.’ Is this the minimum again?”
Pierre: “This shall be the NEW minimum standard: We get a Playstation 2 this time!!!! Weeeeeeeee”
Dave M: “Pierre you got to try camping. It really is as bad as you’re imagining but it’s just one night! By the way I put party 5 for the time being..It would be a bit cramped with 8 and Pierre with his own room, but there is floor space in the lounge downstairs and dining room.”
I hope we will not be that crowded but I think both of them know that having my own room is NOT negotiable. They make fun of my eccentric and expensive choices sometimes but they enjoy my company.
My new PC is scheduled to be delivered next Tuesday 15/04. There is no way I will ever buy from Dell anymore! Friday Movie’s night: The Lake House. Good romantic movie and the soundtrack is excellent!
