Getting Back!
I have been struggling since Monday to recover from the break. Swimming was slow and painful. Most people did not realize it but I have lost a few seccondes and that annoyed me. I talked to Jane again today. She is a long distance swimmer as well and is preparing for a 20 miles swim. She said it took her about 8 hours to finish that. If I knew I would have joined her to train for that since the beginning. Too late now. I’ll move on. I had to replace my ATM card today. I lost it so I had to call HSBC and get a new one. No fee… so all is good! I really enjoyed my pictures from my vacation. Not too many pictures but very good ones!
Star Trek 2009: I could download a telesynch version of it off the internet. It is quite good! I would like to get a better divx version sometimes later.

Real Life Is Hard!
Well, I am resuming my life now and it is not easy. After 8 days, lazying in the cottage, the shock with reality is brutal. So there are the exams and I really have no motivation at all. Especially when I know that the first one is like 15 days away: Industrial Design Law is on May 26, International Aspects of Law is on May 29, Unfair Competition Law is on June 05 and finally Copyright Law is on June 08. I really need to get motivated.
I managed to finish my 6 kms this morning but I thought I would give up after 2 kms. The first kms are indeed the hardest. After that it is as if I get into some kind of second phase in which I am more technical and I flow faster. The breathing rythm is also better, like running I tend to breath too fast and too irregularly at first.
I started to check Dave E’s 47 Gb of songs and I gave up. He has too many things and it is humanly impossible to go throug them all. There are very good songs among them but I cannot sort them out. I deleted the whole directory.
While checking my pictures, I remembered last week moments and I really liked them today. The jumping pic is awesome and then the model pose pics are quite nice as well. What a pity! Only 45 pics out of w whole week in Scotland. Life can be very crual sometimes. Have I mentioned I peed in the Loch Ness? Hihi…

Home Sweet Home!
8 days without internet was too long! The trip was not that great due to very bad weather. I gave up on following the two Daves quickly as soon as I realized the harsh and painful conditions in which they were exposed to. I went my way on Tuesday and I did my own little thing. I stayed home most of the time to avoid the miserable conditions. I was doing fine though physically and mentally. Just a bit bored. Time flew by quickly.
When I was away, I have received an email from Linda, the australian secretary. She forwarded me a letter from the australian taxation office giving me 900 AUD. Funny thing is I should not receive the australian bonus stimilus since I am no longer an australian resident. Somehow I still am. So without doing anything, I have received extra money for free vacation by chance.
I am going to relax today and register to Star Craft II, test beta version. It will soon be released. Weeee!

Gone to Scotland 01/05-09/05
I am ready to go. Everything is packed and all looks good. I hope we have enough space in Dave E’s car because I brought alot. We were fine last time and we had tons of extra climbing gears. This time we do not need any but since we are staying longer we might add extra stuffs we do not really need. In volume I have the same thing. They have camping gears with them this time which will require some space too.
Fuyuan, a chinese bloke, I saw several times on the bus and who joined us last time for the hike decided to join us for the week in Skye the last minute and he canceled his trip with the hiking club to Glencoe. I am very surprised, I would not picture any other asian doing that but he did. Amit, the indian bloke pulled himself out of the deal. I think he is more afraid of being out of shape than anything else.
It is unlikely that I will have internet access the first few days there. It is not mentioned in the brochure but last time we could use someone’s WIFI which was not protected. We won’t be lucky this time I think but who knows. We will drive back late next Saturday. I do not know how I will react with people I do not know in a remote area where the only real thing to do is hiking and wandering around. I have been nervous the last few days and I could not sleep well.
No internet and no swimming for a whole week! O MY GOD! I will leave today at 12:30 pm.

Jane, The Platinum Blonde Chick!
We had a long chat this morning since she joined the public swimming lane. Her team wasn’t training and she said she needed to train herself for her coming race in June. Probably the most beautiful blond hair I have seen! Perfect body! She looks much better when she gets out of the water with her wet hair. We swam very fast and were matching our speed. Quite nice swim! My shoulders are sore. She said she will be back tomorrow, I doubt I can be as fast tomorrow. She laughed when I told her I only relax after she asked me if I was training for a race. She said she has never seen anyone swimming like me to relax.
Such a beauty must be taken!

Planning the TRIP!
Well after clarification with both Daves, I am planning my trip. I will be on my own on Saturday. I think it is more efficient this way. Here is the plan:
Friday 01/05: We leave around 9 am from Manchester where they will pick me up. We should arrive at Glencoe before 5 pm and they will drop me at the Wolly Rock B&B before joining their own campsite. They might camp at the same location as the hiking club in order to facilitate the social events. I have booked a table at the Loch Leven Cafe for 6:30 pm.
Saturday 02/05: After breakfast, I have decided to do this walk: Bein a’Bheithir (Walk Highlands). It will be my first walk alone. I will use what I have learned from the hiking club. I am very excited about this idea. Alone and lost in the wild! I told Dave M that I will meet them at 4:30 pm at the B&B place. It is easier since it is on the way. They could also pick me up along the A83. We should arrive at the cottage in Skye around 7 pm.
Sunday 03/05-Sat 09/05: Dave M has suggested several walks: Bla Bheinn (950m ascent, 6k) , Sgurr na Coinnich (750m ascent, about 12k), Five sisters of Kintail. I have downloaded all the information (map, description, route). We will probably decide as we go along, weather permitted, what to do. There are other places not too far that are great for walking as well.
I have bought a headtorch, a nice waterproof poncho (I really love this poncho, I look like one of the Lord of the Rings fellow in it). I probably need a small survival kit just in case. I want to look professional more than anything else. I really don’t know if I should invest into professional maps. I also have a fancy compass. I need a whistle.
Sooo exciting! My own adventure and I am ready to rumble.

I got along with both Daves but yesterday I had to harden my position. Dave M at the BD’s dinner wanted to measure my willingness to be social when he suggested the idea of staying late next Saturday in order to do social things with the hiking club in the evening. I was very annoyed with the idea and I sent out an email warning both that I will not go if that is what they want. They both knew they were hitting a delicate question with me. I do not like putting pressure on them but they left me with no choice.

Food, Powerball and Secondhand Market
These were the three funny events during this weekend. The food was excellent as usual. My dad showed me his new toy, a funky powerball. The first time I tried, it was very hard to turn it the right way and after several times, I got a hand of it. Very funny and I am trying to buy one on ebay. We went on Sunday to a seconhand market, my mom found an Lacrosse jumper for me, It fit me perfectly. I found out on the tag that it was for a 14 years old kid. LOL I am short but my butt is big. It is very hard to find suitable pants for me. So I was glad she found a Lacrosse jumper for me. It is very comfortable and I love it. Coincidently, the french television showed the movie, “Scent of a woman” yesterday. My brother and my dad enjoyed the movie very much.
The swim was hard. I was a bit rusty after a nice and relaxing weekend. I felt a bit rusty but I was quite fast. I am now as fast as Jane. I got confirmation this morning. Dave E sent an email and asked a small group of people to join him for a dinner and drink for his BD. I will join them but I did not mention anything about my own BD over the weekend.

I will bring extra stuffs back to Paris this time in order to have less to carry on the plane next time for the final move. My skiing jacket is really big and heavy and also all my winter jackets. I really don’t need them.
3 hours of this boring lecture and then it is over. It might be better since we are having a guest speaker today. We were being asked to prepare some questions. I do not really think anyone will ask anything. It migth be a catastrophy! So many students have skipped the lecture yesterday, the lecturer has given up on making us sign a presence sheet. I think he should be looking for another job elsewhere or he better improves his skills next year.
Perfect swim again! Tuesday is probably the busiest day. Maybe people got annoyed and after last Tuesday, they just gave up. I like it when there are no old people. They are very slow but worse of all, they swim in the middle beause of a very bad technique. I also talked a bit to Jane, the pretty blond platinum, she told me she was away because she had a back injury. I noticed she was slower than me now. It is hard for me to judge now what my level really is.
