First Exam!

It’s today at 2 pm and I still have 5 hours to brush up on the exam. I have finished learning by heart my answers yesterday, so I am just reciting today to make sure nothing is being left out. Memory is a tricky thing especially under stress conditions. I noticed I never really wrote or said exactly the same thing during exams or presentations. It should be OKAY.

I only swam 5 kms today so that I am not too tired. Resuming after 5 days is hard but I managed.

Bank Holiday

Today is Spring holiday. The town seems dead as usual. I took the trash down and there is a huge amount of trash being accumulated. For some reasons they have divided the number of bins. Also, I went to print some papers at the cluster room and it looked like a battlefield. Students are really dirty. Without people cleaning after them, things turn quickly messy.

Tomorrow my first exam and I am relatively confident. I managed to learn by heart half of it already and I will finish the other half today. Not too hard. Let’s keep fingers crossed and hope for the best.

WoW Addiction

Believe me it’s a true addiction once you played it and passed level 10. Terrible! So my priest character is up to level 23 now and I am stuck with my brother at the dungoen. Without the help of at least 2 more or with a higher level, we will not pass this one. The good thing about it is I lost a bit of interest and wait for the right time for others to join. So I recovered a bit of my sanity :). Here a nice South Park’s video to understand what WoW addiction is.

I woke up at 7:30 am this morning, I took a nicer shower after few abs exercises. I also had a nice glass of freshly squizzed orange juice. I do not have swimming until next Tuesday so I try to keep myself in shape. I did not play any WoW game yet but did log on to talk a bit with my sister and brother. I am feeling quite good now. I need to finish the last part ofmy revison. Again it will be a gambling game! I will try to guess what will be on the exam, write my own essay about it and learn it by heart, Then I will just write it down during the exam. It worked out fine last time and no one wants to change a successful method!

Also I am in the process of moving my blog to a new location. It did not work that well so far.

It is so hard to concentrate. I wish I could foresee the future, I would not want to work more than what is required. I am currently working on past year exams and I noticed a lot of them are not similar. These minor modules vary depending on the teacher each year unlike the first modules.

Most of the time I buy my lunch at the University’s canteen and I always order the stir fry at the same stand. The chef at that stand is funny and he always called me “kiddo”. I am not too sure but I think we are either the same age or he might even be younger. I am glad in some way that peole think I am younger.

Back to my revision now!

No Swimming!

Until Next Tuesday, the pool is closed due to paralympic games here at Manchester. It will give me more time to brush up on my exams and of course to play World of Warcraft. I will buy my food at the canteen from now on so that I do not waste time preparing dinner. Also the canteen food is more healthy. I wish these exams were more spread out in time. The first two are only 3 days apart. I can practically guess what will be on the exam for two modules. The rest is harder. I need to optimize my chances. It worked out well last time.

Amy left yesterday. What a waste of money. This girl has spent 4k GBP in rent and she has stayed here maybe 3 months in total. Some people are really lucky and have very rich parents to help them out.

World of Warcraft

This game is very addictive. I played it since Friday and I could not stop. I slept very late yesterday but everything seems okay this morning. The weekend was strange, one meal per day and lots of hours of game playing. The good side is that my family is playing it too. As usual the same people, my brother, my sister and her BF and myself. Dave M sent out an email for a possible hike last weekend. I did not feel like joining. I went to Trafford shopping center with Amy on Saturday for lunch. It was very nice. She is packing things up and she is probably leaving this week. Anyways today’s plan consists of revision all day and maybe WoW from 8 pm. Let see if I can stick to this plan.

Great swim that cleared up my mind. I have a tiny fever zit on my right eye :(. I hope it won’t get any bigger. I hate these, very annoying and very disgraceful!

Exams

What a pain in the ass! I really do not enjoy much the last four modules. Even if I find a job as a patent attorney, none is useful to me. What makes it even harder is that I have some extra points and I do not want to work more than required to pass. I was really afraid and I worked a lot the first semester allowing me to pass where most students failed. We shall see. I am tired of worrying about life. From now on, my moto shall be: Wait and See.

I swam like a champion this morning. Keeping up with the squad and passing all people in my lane. This week, I enjoyed swimming with the slow pokes. They all know my speed now. They even timed themselves accordingly and let me pass. Some of them even used my rythm to swim faster. An old fart tried yesterday. He was out of breath though after only 6 laps.

Amy was back on Monday but she is not happy anymore. Things in her life don’t seem to go well. I did not ask more but I know her. Probably her boyfriend’s health is getting worse. She mentioned it before Christmas and I think it has been confirmed.

I asked Jane about the interview and she was very deceived. She wanted the job but it seems that it did not go as well as she thought it could be.

My brother, Paul, is making an indecent amount of earning by day-trading. He convinced me to open a trading account… We shall see. This year has been strange. My family seems doing okay during the economical crisis..Maybe even better than before. I guess we just had to wait for our time to come and the wheel has turned to their favor.

Friday movie night: Defiance and The Girl in the Park

Back in Da Game!

Yea I am back. Got the few secondes I lost back and all is good now. I was swimming at the same speed as Jane. She was a bit faster at the beginning but then in a long run we are about the same speed…Cool! She has a job interview this morning as a store manager for a clothing store. So she was a bit nervous. Hopefully she will get it. She is then a bit older than I thought since she is no longer a student. I also asked her about her race, it is in fact the 20 miles swim around Manhattan. I’ve heard about it already and when I mentioned the people who did it also in Dublin, she immediatly gave me a name. She said not many people in the world do that and you need to reach some required swim times so it is a small circle and they all know each other. Funny how she described these swimmers, tall big with a huge belly. I asked her how she managed that race since she is not fat and it is damn cold….we laughed!

Minimum Service!

I am feeling very good today. I had plenty of sleep and not swimming today has allowed me to recover completely. I am just in a good mood. I am happier when I am alone with internet. Having contact with people tend to put me under stress. So I was glad I could pull myself out of any social event the other guys wanted to have. I really had enough of social contact for one year during last week in Scotland! lol

I have my exams coming and I need all my strenght to pull out a minimum service in order to ensure a smooth pass in all remaining modules. Eric, a young bloke, I met several years ago on IRC has become an IT now. He proposed his server to store my blog yesterday. I am going to test it. It is a 100Mb connection with 250 Gb space. So it should be better than Eno’s site. If they can synchronise the two servers, my blog will be mirrored which is perfect for me. Eno jumped onto the opportunity to make a backup of his own site. He is very happy also.

I made another happy man yesterday when I gave to Robert, a dude from Malta, my collection of movies. He is an old Phd student who attended regularly the Friday movie night. We met on the way to the supermarket and I told him about Rapidshare. To speed up the process, I just gave him all my movies. He also followed my advices and put up the two movies I recommended for this Friday.
