First Time Trading

I bought my very first stock option today (1000 USD). For now it is a bit random and I follow my borther’s advice…Fingers crossed! My little Lolita has broken one of her nail, the one on the side, two days ago. It is still a bit bloody and probably painful. She must have stumbled on it. Poor little thing! Thinsg are going fine here. I applied for the RSA and it is taking time. I do not care much but I want all my paperwork in France to be renewed. We take care of ourselves, me and my brother now that my mom is gone and it is not too bad. We only do some cooking during lunch time. My dad stills cooks for dinner. I also updated my CVs but with more people losing jobs it will be long.

The Empty Spot

So my mom left on Thursday and went back to Vietnam for 2 weeks vacation. In our family, vacation has a peculiar meaning since we rarelly take them. The house changes immediatly. I’ve never really realized the void which one person leaves behind when he/she goes away. I am usually the one leaving and because I had to adjust myself to my new environment I did not feel it. I had a taste of it while observing my dad’s habits. He keeps on doing exactly the same things he would have done if my mom was still here. It is the people who stay who suffer the most I believe. They are indeed facing the same reality but they have to fill up the empty space left behind.
My little Lolita broke her nail while stumbling on it. She has a hard time walking so she tends to fall. The good thing is it’s one of these nails that is located on the side and she does not need it. I tried to fix it using a bandaze so that it can heal and her body can reject the dead part. Removing it completely now might hhurt her.
My brother’s contract as teacher ended. He did not like the school and I think it is better that it ends.

Nothing New!

Time goes by and nothing is really happening to my life. I’ve started to drive few times to get used to the manual shift. It is not very hard and I remember quickly. I am quite happy. It’s been very hot the least few days and my dad installed an A/C unit in my room. We had to move few things around to make room for it. My brother went to Amiens this morning for his teaching examination. He will be back on Thursday. It is the oral examination that followed his written examination. My mother is going back to Vietnam on Thursday for 2 weeks "vacation". She wanted to see hmy grand-mother maybe one last time.

My parents are very good cook and I have rarely eaten anything better during all these years abroad. I enjoy very much home vietnamese cuisine. I do not miss England at all or Ireland, not even the swimming, I regret a bit the technique I am losing but the chlorinated water is damaging my hair badly so maybe it is not so bad to end this sport. Rowing should provides me with all the sport actvities I need. I am gathering all my strength to apply for a job. The economic situation isn’t looking too good so I am wondering if I am just waisting my time applying now. Anyways it is a good thing to do to make it regularly. Who knows!

I’ve started rowing seriously this week: 13.1 kms for an hour, about 26.8 strokes/min. It is not too bad and I enjoy rowing everyday. I am also enjoying the fast internet connection with lots of mangas I used to watch when I was younger: les chevaliers du zodiaques and Ullysse 31.
Someone is cutting the grass right now and besides the annoying noise it is smelling nicely fresh grass. I am waiting for my exams’ results and I am not doing much besides playing games everyday with my brother. We have not even started day-trading because we spent so much time playing World of Warcraft. He is also losing some money right now so I did not want to add more pressure. We will do that when things go smoothly again for him. He is on vacationg for 2 months and he has an exam on July 1st.
I talked to Aurore yesterday and she told me she was robbed. She did not lose much but she had to install a new lock and the whole thing came ou about 1000 euros. What annoys her most is probabaly the feeling of insecurity.

Life Goes On

I started rowing again. I did it for a while when I first came to Australia. I had 2 months of transition during which I lived in a nice hotel complex with gym facilities. I ddid yesterday an hour of rowing without stopping. Not too bad for a beginning: 8 miles. I still woke up very early by habit. The internet is awesome, it is the same speed I had at Manchester University and we can watch movies online while playing games and streaming the internet. I bought a 32" SAMSUNG flat screen to watch movies in my room.
Sonja, my PhD colleague, had her 2nd baby girl. Her husband sent out a group email last week. I have received an email from Kristine, a hiking friend from Australia. I am glad she still remembers me. I am not very good at keeping in touch with people. I just do not know what to tell them and there is always an awkward feeling.
I need to send out my CVs. I do not want to move to another country this time so I will try to scout around Paris.

I need to get back to a routine. I’ve been enjoying some good quality time. I need to start rowing and running now since the swiming pool here is quite small. I might go sometimes maybe to learn the butterfly instead of doing long sessions of freestyle. I will check the timetable later. Yesterday I finally could go to sleep at midnight. I still wake up everyday at 6 am without much effort by habit.
5000 US dollars are now in my american Zecco trading account. I want to give it a try with my brother’s help. Who knows? If someday I have enough cash to do day trading, I will not want to work for anyone else but myself. I need to start resending some CVs also. I wanted to know my grades first.
The internet speed is awesome. We can watch movies online, play games and do whatever as if I was still using the University connection which is the most important thing for me. Free, our internet provider is really not bad at all. Compared to what I had 5 years ago this is like heaven. I also started to drive again on an automatic car. Not bad at all I’d say after 7 years not driving on a manual. I did not provock any schok with the gears :). All I need is some practice and everything should be perfect.

Adjusting to My New Life!

On Sunday, we lost internet around 9 pm and I had to fix it by installing an ad-hoc internet sharing on my own laptop. It was very annoying. I think something is wrong with our freebox v4. Anyways the phone came back and everyone can use the internet which is the most important thing. On Monday, I sent out the formula and applied for the RSA (Revenu solidarite active). I called Zecco and fixed my US trading account, I also moved my money from ING to ANZ to Zecco. On Tuesday I sent another email to ask Free about the new box I ordered a week and half ago. My sister, Anne came and stayed overnight for a family reunion. It has been a while since the family was reunited, maybe 6 or 7 years ago. It was very enjoyable. Today, we will pick up the newfree box HD.
I also cut my hair. My long hair was too damaged. It is much shorter now and I really like it more this way. The weather is much nicer. No more this cloudy sky above my head all the time.

The return has been very hectic after the exam. I did not feel like doing anything and I just played WoW. My flight was not very enjoyable I had to pay extra due to luggage excess. I will never fly with little cheap companies again. It’s better to pay extras for a smooth return. Anyways all is good now.
The Wifi on the freebox stopped working after I replugged the new power plug for unknown reasons. I had to spend some hours setting up an ad-hod internet system using my laptop so that I can share internet. We will just wait for the new box to come.

Preparing my Return!

I have not many things to carry home this time. I will probably throw away a lot of useless things. I have received an email from Zecco confirming the opening of my trading account and the internet at home has been upgraded to adsl +2. Good…very good!
