Lovely Xmas!

As usual my little cousins were charming. and I had a lovely Xmas. I just brought my sorry self to their place and one Moet-champagne and 2 wannabe champagnes. I really did not have time this year to prepare anything. I finished work late on Friday and I was tired. Anyways, I hope they did not mind. I did not think money or cash contribution was appropriate so I did not make any. My brother tried.
Something seems missing, I cannot pinpoint what. I felt incomplete even though I fulfilled my duty as a guest. I do not know what and it bothered me. I really enjoyed my time with people from my cousin generation. They are fun to be with. The reality of life seems to catch up the younger ones. I have a peculiar tenderness for the youngest of my cousins. But they have grown up and it seems that life has caught up with them. I wish them all the best but I could sense that the grip life is there.

2 WEeKs of VacAtIoN!

Yea Yea yea! 2 weeks of vacation starting tomorrow.Finally, it’s getting there! I will leave work tomorrow at 4 pm and I will also check a studio nearby. Hopefully, it will be the right one. Things seem to calm down at home but I do not think any of us want to return back as it was before.
I personal think that we are too much onto each other. What we really need is space, and of course to do so, I need a job and then I should move out. It is just the natural order of things. Of course, financial considerations made it ‘livable’ but we aren’t really made for that. As human beings, we think and do things differently and when we are living under the same roof, it is very hard to repress our natural tendency of spreading our way of life to others.
I also kept on looking for other opportunities. My job is quite easy going and not too stressful. I do want to make more money though.

My current mobile carrier, Free is the cheapest but sadly the poorest carrier, quality wise. Also, it has implemented all sort of bandwidth restrictions with popular internet services that are bandwidth-hungry such as Youtube. So, even though you have unlimited internet, you cannot use it as you wish or as it is being used by other carriers.
I am switching to Sosh which offered a special Xmas deal: 14,90 Euros for 2h national calls (+50 international landlines), 1 Gb of internet browsing. It is cheaper and hopefully it will give me decent internet browsing capacities. I am simply doing nothing with Free which is very annoying and it is a waste of money.

Pffff MoNdaY!

Always annoying these Mondays! I do not like them. I tend to be a bit disturbed when I get back to work due to sleeping adjustments, meaning I did not sleep well. It was not that bad but still, it was not pleasant to wake up this morning for work. Not much to do this morning though. I think I have finished most important work until Christmas and New Year. Less emails anyways! Good Good!
I applied to 2 positions today. I do not think I will change my job any time soon but I want to keep myself open for any opportunities. If there are very well paid jobs with interesting career upgrade, I will just apply to these to keep my CV up-to-date and to leave my door wide open. My main motivation is MONEY!

FrEnch TaX!

Finally, I received my tax payment from last year. That was a long, painful and stupid process. It will finally legalize my situation in France from now on! A lot of administrative matters require this form and mine was lost in the administrative limbo for a while. I have a complicated life moving everywhere and I am cursed with administrative processes.
O I forgot …bye bye 1310 euros in tax!

So my brother has decided to stop his newly and hardly obtained teaching position after …3 months and half (permanent civil job). For my brother, it is the exact same type of job that he has been trying for the last 6 years. He commonly admitted that it is not his passion and it is just a secondary job while he continues his online trading activities. The only regrettable thing is that he quit each time his job by himself, so that will leave him with no un-employment benefits or social security coverage.
I personally think he should try something else and look harder. He has all the diplomas needed but he doesn’t know how to sell himself. I succeeded since I changed completely my area of activities. I do not know if he will ever find enough courage to go out and fight for that.

No MoRe FeAR!

6 months ago, when I entered my car or any car, I always had this little thing in my stomach called fear. I drove a lot in the US but after a long time without practice in Australia and back to France (maybe 5-6 years) , I did not feel comfortable. Now, it is much better. I have full control over my little Toyota Yaris and I am not afraid anymore. I just get in and drive as normal.
One week and half to go and I am on a permanent contract with the Institute of Soudure: Yea Yea Yea! It has been 2 weeks and half that I have not touched any kind of alcohol: Good Job to myself! I am just worried about my dormant Hepatitis B! I am sleeping much better nowadays. No more interruptions and I went to sleep quickly. No more worries.
My job is smoother now that the transition is almost over. I only deal with one kind of process, the new one that I have put in place myself so I know it by heart! The outsourcing of the project makes it so much easier to manage also. Let’s keep fingers crossed! Normally it should be fine since everybody wants its success anyways so a lot of goodwill from everyone.

On Tuesday, I attended a conference about Sharepoint 2013. It was interesting. The conference ended earlier than expected so I spent the rest of the afternoon shopping around (not buying anything though).
On Wednesday, I had to go to the tax office. They simply forgot my online application and even though I’ve sent the paperwork after by mail, nobody seemed interested. Anyways I hope that it will be fixed because I do need the tax forms for next year.
I finished most of the boring work and everything seems rolling. With this new process in place, I will have less boring work to do but more managing work. I prefer managing people, it is very complex and usually never ends up exactly the way you want but it is the most satisfying and rewarding work I found.
