All people living in the building stopped by to ask where I was yesterday when they saw lights in my studio. The protection in front of my window was down for a week and they thought something happened. The old lady thought I would come back yesterday also. The lawn has grown nicely.

Happy to be home! I hate traveling but I survived my week alone. The taxi driver was unhappy when I told him where I live. I asked him if he wants me to take another taxi, he then explained to me that I live too close and he had to wait 2 hours just for a short drive. I immediately told him that I would give him 45 Euros anyways since I do not care and it is my company that pays. That changed his mood right away. He had 17 euros as tip out of 28 euros!
I was a bit surprised to see a huge moving truck outside my building. Looks like the Senegal bro/sis got kicked and they finally moved. Dunno how I should feel! They were quiet most of the time. There was a very strong musky smell that came out of their apartment. I always wonder what it was, like some typical perfume from Senegal. If they continue not paying their rent someone will have to because there are general charges (trash/cleaning) for the common areas and I think it will be the other residents who will have to pay the gap.

As soon as I arrived to the Hotel, I asked about internet and of course they made you pay for a huge amount: 20 euros per day! Then I went to check for other options, my phone company switched to a local provider that charged about the same amount as the hotel per Mb.
I first paid 10 Euros for a pay-as-you go sim card that does not allow my iphone to share its internet connection. Then I paid for a 3G USB key (30 euros) and I recharged it for 35 euros for 7.5 Gb. Total cost: 75 Euros.
I hate places with no free internet at fast speed and free of charge. Anyways, from my experience I immediatly knew what to do to fix this internet problem.

It was really nice and I enjoyed the wedding. I should have learned to dance properly. I will fix that as soon as I get back from Germany. It is my priority #1.
The really nice goodies to remember:
My cousins’ speeches, their little games, the very nice powerpoint with Diane and Jonathan’s lives next to each other and the wedding’s surprise with the balloon heated by hot air released in the air.
Comparing Anne’s wedding to Diane’s wedding is a tough call. Diane played heavily on the sentimental side of her origin, Vietnam. It was the central theme around which many speeches were built on. Anne’s wedding was lighter. The difference reflects the sequence of their birth. Anne is the 3rd born in our family and Diane’s the 1st in her family. Usually, the first born is very sentimental and has the burden of the parents’. My brother is very much like Diane.
Little weird things I noticed:
My mom’s dress, my bro’s jean, and the heavy metal sequence!

Two days ago, I heard cries upstairs from the sister from Senegal. Something must have happened. Maybe a death in the family. It was the curiosity of our neighbors. I was impressed that many people from Senegal stopped by to comfort her. White people around here were very suspicious.
There is a strong smell (musk/burned smoke) coming from their place. I wonder what kind of spice or perfum they use to have this smell.
The old women in our building had a check-up at the doctor today. She had part of a pelvis removed due to a possible cancer development. She was happy she did not have to undergo chemiotherapy. Things seem fine for another 3 months.

3 cars had broken glasses 2 days ago in our street and it has become a local drama; my neighbors talked about it and everyone is looking for ways to get a spot in the garage.
In fact, the small street is nice but the surrounding is not really nice. Anyways, it was an exciting moment for everyone to know that they can be in danger. I am bored so I welcome any weird event that would spice up my life.
I live in da jungle! :).

Yesterday, I went out to cut some branches that prevent the garage door from closing properly and a girl came and asked me how she could get a nice lawn like mine. I explained to her but also told her that it is the result of 8 months of hard work :). I am very proud of my lawn and many people around are impressed with the result.
Today, there was a gas leak somewhere in my street due to some construction works. The gas went off for security reason. The technicians went around to turn on the gas back, however for people who weren’t around they just left a note with instructions. People in my building were not there of course, myself included. I quickly read the note and turned the gas on myself. The old lady came and knocked at my door for help so did the brunette!
In the evening, an old man came and talked to me about internet for the lady in front of my door. He asked me all kind of questions about it as if I was a specialist. I did not solve the problem but I explained the reasons.
4 small deeds for a week! I will probably miss this street and its people when I leave. I hope they will miss me too. They all know I will leave soon anyways.
