1. Electrical Oven medium size: 149 Euros

2. Mountain Bike + Helmet + Lock: 109  (149 initially) + 9.90 + 9.10 = 128 Euros

3. Dishwasher: 299 Euros

4. carpets, trash bin: 23 Euros

I am not spending too much :). I only bought things I really need for my personal comfort. I am trying to optimize the space to keep the nice studio as empty as it is. I like having the feeling of space.

So I met Mrs. Alonso, the owner of number 8 on my floor, a separate room + living/kitchen room. She moved in a day after me. She seems quiet and nice. We did not talk much except when I made a mistake about the electrical connection to my own room, using hers.
Yesterday a woman, future resident, also stopped by and asked to check my place since hers is not available yet. She will move in in April but she would like to see my place. She was very happy and we talked a bit. She works at the airport and she is paying almost 600 euros in rent. A nice person as well. There will be 8 people on my floor and I hope they are nice, quiet and clean!

I do not miss my old place a bit. I think I was so angry at the owner that the positive feelings are shadowed by the anger. Anyway, he regretted probably more for having met me and that is my only consolation. What a dumb ass!

I will buy a bicycle and visit the park and places around my building.

The most important stuffs are in my new studio and the old one is no longer under my responsibility. It took few days to get used to this new studio and I am still sometimes looking for stuffs around. I am trying to make my studio more comfortable meaning that I will try to add ONE THING (or more) to it per day until it feels like home:

Monday: front door carpet + Back door carpet.
Tuesday: Main bin for common trash. It was a cheap metallic bin and I had fun assembling the parts. I do not know if it will last but it is very convenient and simple.
Wednesday: I am looking for a shoe holder plus something to sit on when I put my shoes on.
Thursday: bathroom carpet

It was just the right thing to do: I secured a good place and it is financially safe and sound. So I woke up this morning happier. I fully recovered from the last 5 days and I had a good sleep even if it was late.
I hope that my brother will be able to do the same thing in the near future and I wish that my cousines will also get into the trend. I should have tried to get rid of the rent earlier but I moved too much and I never had a job that would offer long term prospects. I am alone so financially it was a bit harder.
I asked my parents to come and help for the last two heavy things, the washing machine and my rowing machine. It would be hard to move them alone even though I did it before.
I met three people who moved in just after me. They are on the same floor but I am not sure if the old man I met will stay here or he just came to help his daughter. I met them together and we did not have the chance to talk further.

Since I was the first one to move in, I was alone in this huge building for 2 nights. I met the watchman, a Cambodian man who will retire next year. He stays in his car most of the time, sleeping and checking on his dog. We talked a lot when he stopped by to get water for himself and for his dog. I also helped him opening a room so that he can have electricity since he is sleeping in his car: He has 4 kids, his younger brother has a nice job as an engineer working in the nuclear industry, he goes back to Cambodia once a year for vacation. Hard life for an old man! He seems healthy and very alert.
I tried to convert him to the Iphone/Samsung tablets showing him that he can watch movies and have internet in his car. I do not know if he will manage to get one but who knows.
At night, I walk around checking these empty rooms and scaring myself with strange noises. The building is so huge and so … empty.

It is now over. I moved everything to the new studio. I am so tired, mentally and physically! I kept on telling myself that it is the last time but it seems that it is never the last time for me.

At least no more wasting money in rent: 650 euros per month into my own mortgage. Yea Yea Yea!
Lets keep fingers crossed, if this studio is worth more in few years; I will sell it and buy something else!

I want to relax now!

I am on a H+ connection through a nice little WIFI device. The internet speed is awesome however it is very expensive. Luckily for me, I am having 12 Gb + 12 Gb free as a trial for 6 months.
I will have to rely on this nice technology for at least a month according to the woman I had on the phone and who is responsible for the connection of the internet to my building. She said that there is a physical problem concerning the connection to our new building. She called the company responsible for the installation and she is waiting for the results of the testing and the repair. I do not trust her and I only hope that she is saying the truth :). Last time I ran into such problem it lasted for 4 months! but who knows!

Let’s see how things go. I do not want to pay 140 euros / months for this nice connection!

Since I did not optimize the moving, I had to do a lot of runs, back and forth from the car. I am lucky my old studio was just 10 min away from the new one. This morning, my body was sore and I had few scratches on my hands.

My new studio is really spacious, I like it very much. The building is facing the main road so it is a bit noisy but it remains low except when you have a huge truck. I guess this is just common things when you live in a city. I will just have to get used to it. I like the continuous motion of cars.

I need to buy a dishwasher and more shelves. It is a bit empty and I have a hard time fitting in everything. I will avoid making holes in the walls. They are quite nice at the moment.

I do not have internet at the moment because Orange, the main internet provider, has not connected the building to their lanes. It seems that they ran into some issues as usual with new buildings and they have to request the intervention of civil engineers. I am hoping it will be fast however I have a good 3G connection and I am currently enjoying a free 12 Gb offer from Bouygues. It was supposed to be part of the 4G testing program but I am not near a 4G antenna. Anyways the signal is good and the speed decent.

Building A, Apt 01, and I am the first one to move in! Is it just coincidence?

It is true that I do not like to wait and I prefer to do things quickly. It is weird to be the only one in this building tonight but I am happy I made it. I moved everything from my old studio except the washing machine and few things in the fridge. I will do it over the weekend. I might have bruises tomorrow after moving and carrying these little things. It took me 3 trips. I did not have that many things but I did not pack them before. I just threw everything in trash bags and put them in my car.

Done done done and HAPPY!
