gOoD nEws!

I learned this Friday that the next engineer who was supposed to join me declined the offer for another position. It means that I have to keep joining a lot of projects. It’s not too bad for me because it allows me to learn many things. I also enjoy this status of being the ONLY local engineer at the moment.

I leave work at 17:15 everyday and I see people coming to work for the night shift: arabs, asians, blacks… foreigners, mainly technicians. My bosses are mainly white people. I have mixed feelings, strange feelings! One of these workers could be my parents trying to survive. I received orders to move jobs to Poland, I know that Polish people are hurt and French people see their jobs stolen everyday.
My only excuse to everyone who told me, ” Our jobs are being stolen”, t was hat’s the only way to keep their jobs at the moment.
I had to sign a document forbidden me to reveal everything I know about my company. It only took me 2 seconds to sign that document.
Everyone fear the result of my work somehow! Of course, I am feeling lucky being where I am now! I am the one executing the orders in a mathematical ways.

I was asked to reproduce a report according to a model. I found out that the fancy looking graphs represent only 20 and 64 items out of 6000 meaning … just noise in the background.
I went to a workshop where 7 people LOCALLY looked at a remote Citrix screen (remote server). I did not say anything, the 6 people just discovered that the test went wrong! I was just happy that I got a full day off.

It’s been 2 months and 2 days! I remained quiet, consistent and I am always always around when people need a helpful hand. I am very careful in my answers. I always structured my replies showing that I did my homework: searching, reading and advancing in my projects. I am always pro-active and I took new initiatives in everything with a light attitude: asking questions and asking for help.
It seems working so far .. lets hope that it will continue!

I left work on Friday at 16:30, I went to Belgium and I came back on Sundy at 18:10 then I went for a movie at 19:15 and went back home at 21:45. I did not see time flies by this weekend.
