rOckRIdER 5.1!

I bought a second bike that has rarely been used: my second Rockrider 5.1 all in white and blue. Just in case my Rockrider 5.2 has something. It was an excellent bargain 55 Euros for an almost brand new bike to be stored in a safe place.

So the noise (from the bike) did not come from the pedals nor the rotary system, it freaking originated from the junction between the pedals and the rotary system that required some greasing. A lot of time and energy wasted and an awful lot of stress (but no money). I thought my excellent deal was a scam. I was so happy to figure that out because it was so annoying: it came suddenly the day after I bought the bike out of the blue and I already tested it for like 5 hours already without any problem. And the noise went away after I cleaned the bike, water was in fact the greasing agent as long as the bike was wet.

Stress has a long lasting effects on my sleep. I did not recover immediatly the day after. The Garmin Fenix 6 Pro smartwatch can get vital information from my physiological data and gave me a good guidance from the raw analysis. It seems that the REM (Rapid Eye movement) phase of the sleeping process is an important phase.

Some dirt got into my bike wheels and there were noises when I put pressure on the pedals on a slope. I spent the whole afternoon trying to figure out the cause and I messed up the pedals. Luckily, custumer service fixed things up for me. They also mis-diagnosed like me the origin of the noise thinking that it was due to the rotary system: 59 Euros for the replacement, parts included. I asked for more time, came back home and cleaned up every parts of my bike with high pressure water. The noises were gone! Yippie Yippie!

My Garmin Fenix 6 Pro smartwatch immediatly warned me about the stress level that I suffered mentally while selecting and buying the second hand bike through “leboncoin”. I, indeed, did not sleep well and was bothered with this process that involved trading and talking to people. I prefer the easy peacy process from Amazon: buy, try & return IF – minimum human contact required!

I bought a Rockrider 5.2 second-hand mountain bike for 90 Euros and I was extremely happy with the deal, the previous owner did not spend much time on this bike and it will be my duty to spend as much time as I can for the rest of the summer on this lovely baby. I could feel that my old bike had a problem when biking at high speed, I think there was something wrong with the inner rotary system of the back wheel, maybe one of these tiny steel balls was broken or something. Anyways this problem disturbed my habit and my mental balance for 2 days.
